Our adventure...

Sept. 5th -

We have been working on the Immigration Sponsorship application. They request ALOT of info and photocopies of just about everything:

*Birth Certificates
*Marriage Certificate
*An Adoption Order
*T4
*Letters from employer
*Pay stubs for the previous 12 months
*Income tax return
*All financial obligations -loans, cc interest, mortgage, insurances etc...

We have our Dear Birthmother letter wrote. Microsoft Word messed up and we were unable to save our entire written profile so that will have to be done again. To disgusted at the computer to take at it again yet ;o) We will begin gathering pictures for the Life Books and get them together.

Still waiting on the Criminal clearance to return. We are worried there ~laugh~. Luckily, *knock on wood* we haven't even received a speeding ticket. Having said that, we'll both get nailed, eh!

Provincial approval of the homestudy is coming up so we should hear from our social worker sometime as to finishing it up and reviewing it. Can't forget paying her!

We are going to have to put a bit of work into the van. We hit a large rock causing some damage to the transmission. There will not be any extra $ floating around for a little while!

We are so anxious to have the homestudy approved, the Life Books together, Immigration Sponsorship sent off to Ottawa as well as compile and send off all the necessities to the Open Door.

THEN to begin working on the room and Parks new rm. and preparing for a new babe. Tara sold most of her baby things so we'll be starting fresh again. Think of ALL the fun we'll have shopping again!

Only 3 more months until Christmas!!! Incredible!

Sept. 8th -

We had to put over $1600.00 into the van. Unfortunately, this will leave us short when we have to pay the social worker. We have faith that everything will work out.

Tuesday, Sept. 11th -

Today is a sad day for the entire world. HORRIFIC acts of terrorism where committed in the USA this morning. Two highjacked commerical flights where slammed into the World Trade Center twin centers. Both falling to the ground shortly after. Another highjacked plane was slammed into the Pentegon. Another went down in a field in Pittsburg, short of it's destination for destruction. Thousands of lives have been lost and families affected for ever. May God be with our leaders and the families and lives affected but this terrible, terrible loss.

Sept. 17th -

The social worker called this evening. She asked a couple more questions and filled us in on what's going on. We had to give another referral. Since our referrals were given in '99, one of Tara's friends has since moved away without further contact.

Our homestudy go for approval on the 20th or by the end of the month. There is a contract to have the study done by then so it will have to be done and over with by that time. We will be called after the meeting, when ever that will be. So, we do not have to meet with the social worker prior to the approval and will get together by the last weekend of the month.

We are still waiting on the criminal clearence and immigration sponsorship payment form to arrive.

Sept. 19th-

Received the payment form for the Immigration Sponsorship.

Sept. 21st -

We received Interpol clearance today! Both Paul and I are clear for adoption purposes. Odd, eh ~laugh~. This is one more step that has been completed.

Sept. 24th -

The social worker called this morning. The approval meeting for last Thursday didn't happen. I guess people were off so the provincial board did not meet. It will be next month, the third Thursday of Oct. before they meet again. Our worker will call back at the end of the week to set up our next meeting. Whether it be before the approval or after. We are going to suggest after. When it is finalized and done.

It is discouraging to have delays or set backs when it comes to waiting for our child. But, we have faith that it all works according to God's plan, not ours. It is hard to accept that some times though! We are anxious to be parents again. For Parker to experience the joy of being a sibling.

Paul will be taking parental leave(35wks) when our babe comes home. What an awesome time that will be for our family! We can only dream! To have an infant again. Hopefully we'll be more relaxed where this is the second child. Parker was so little, a preemie who came home at four lbs. seven oz! She was very jaundice but our little trooper thru it all. I was still not well but felt so much better after her delievery. We will not be faced with all that again. After dealing with all that we feel(atleast we think) prepared to parent a healthy new born. I know we'll be stressed as with Parker. The sleep deprivation and getting use to all the baby things again. Bottles, diapers and feedings .. oh my. We can't wait!
