Our adventure...

Aug 2nd -

The meeting went well last night. We both enjoyed it. Thinking about things that normally we wouldn't. The social worker thinks two more meetings will sum it up. Our next is set for the 18th here at the house. We're getting more and more excited all the time. Tara has even thought of purchasing some "baby things". We know the babe will be an infant so we'll start planning for that.
Tara took on a new dept. at work which included another $1/hr. raise. God has blessed us and you can never out give that fellow!

Sent an email to the agency to find out if we have to do the full fingerprints with Interpol or just the regular 'ole criminal record check with the RCMP. It's time to start getting all the paperwork done and gathered. Medicals, employment and financial statements etc...

Aug. 8th -

Called the agency yesterday. The helpful lady on the phone stated that what ever the Province requires for the criminal check is all they need. That's good news and will save us paperwork time as well as $funds$.
The agency also emailed today stating that we can go ahead and send in the application even though the homestudy is not yet finished. We're taking the medical forms to the doc today and will begin preparing the application for Open Door. Waiting to receive the right forms for the crim. check from the Province.

It's moving, slowing but finally coming together. We're both getting excited, allowing ourselves to think about having a baby in the home again as well as thinking of preparing for the little one.

Aug. 11th -

Got in to see our family doc. today to get the medical forms signed and filled out. ($20CAD/ea)

Aug. 13th -

Sent off our application($100.00USD) to Open Door. OHHHH YEAH BABE! FEELS GOOD!

We've applied for their AA program. Now to have the crim. record and fingerprints done(can only go in on Fridays), find out about Immigration Sponsorship, wait for completion of the homestudy, waiting for homestudy approval from the Province, send it off to Open Door and wait to be selected by a bmom. Then once the babe is 6-8wks, we go get the babe and bring him/her home. Within 6mos-1yr. the adoption will then be finalized.

Our social worker called tonight. Confirmed our meeting for Sat. morning and gave us a chance to run some questions by her. We do not need any additional info. regarding finances, the crim. record check(different/new form) or refrences. Looks like we're fairly organized and ready for the next meeting.

Aug. 17th - Fingerprinted today. ($57.00CAD)

Aug. 18th -

Meeting with the social worker here at home. We chatted for 3 hours. We may have to meet one more time as Paul may have a few more questions to go over. The worker will go over everything and begin writting it out. The provincial board only meets every 3 wk. of the month so everything will be complete and finalized by then. We'll hear from the sworker after a couple weeks to see if we need to meet again or to go over any last min. things over the phone.

Parker was at Tara's parents for the morning so we were able to cover alot of ground. She returned at dinner time and was surprisingly friendly with the sworker. So, time was spent with her and dinner instead of going over the last of Pauls questions.

We'll know how everything went by the week of 20th of Sept.

Aug. 21st -

Received a package from the agency(OD) today, we've been accepted. They listed a few things for us to begin working on. Immigration Sponsorship and life books(10 identical). The life books are handed out to case workers for presenting us to birthmothers.

We're not so anxious anymore. Feeling more relaxed with the feeling of letting it happen and fall into place. We shouldn't have to push to get anything done now. We are actually looking forward to waiting to be chosen.

Fingerprints were sent to Ottawa on Monday, the 20th.($50.00CAD)
